Patient Preparation Instructions
Please follow these preparation protocols to ensure the accuracy of your results.
Failure to follow preparation steps might require postponing your appointment.
- Fasting: Fast for 4–6 hours before blood tests. Plain water is permitted.
- Biotin: Stop taking biotin (Vitamin B7) supplements at least 48 hours before thyroid blood tests — high-dose biotin can interfere with thyroid hormone assays.
- Thyroid Medication: If you are already on thyroid medication (levothyroxine etc.), take it as normal with water before your appointment unless specifically instructed otherwise.
