Patient Preparation Instructions
Please follow these preparation protocols to ensure the accuracy of your results.
Failure to follow preparation steps might require postponing your appointment.
- PSA Test: Avoid ejaculation and heavy physical exercise (especially cycling) for at least 48 hours before your appointment — both can temporarily elevate PSA levels and cause false-positive readings.
- Fasting: Fast for 8–12 hours before blood tests. Plain water is permitted.
- Urinalysis: Collect a mid-stream urine sample on the morning of your appointment. A container will be provided upon arrival.
- Ultrasound: Drink 500ml of water 1 hour before your appointment and do not urinate — a full bladder improves ultrasound image quality.
